American Legion Post 77 was initially chartered in 1929

American Legion Post 77 has been instrumental in such things as the "In God We Trust" poster program.  A program which requires all schools to have this poster displayed.  American Legion Post 77 ensured Bentonville School District buildings and classrooms met this requirement.

American Legion Post 77 membership shrank to near non-existant numbers at one time, as well as faced other difficulties and hardships.  Through great efforts by some very determined members, Post 77 has begun a journey to growing again.

Post 77 recognizes the need to change, update and modernize with the times, and is working in that direction.
